Zeus - Father of the Gods - 20 dollar - silver gold 2022
Here is the 5th edition of our successful series "Spiritual Art" devoted to the famous Zeus. Zeus is the God of heaven and thunder in the ancient Greek religion. He was respected as a grandfather, chief of the gods, who reigns from Mount Olympe. His name is related to his Roman equivalent Jupiter. He was considered the initiator of thunder and lightning, rain and winds, and his traditional weapon was lightning. This amazing piece is inspired by the statue of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It was a giant figure seated about 12.4 m high, made by the Greek sculptor Phidias around 435 BC at the Olympia sanctuary, in Greece, and erected in the temple of Zeus . Zeus was seated on a painted wooden throne, decorated with ebony, ivory, gold and precious stones.
The statue was lost and destroyed during the 5th century AD. The details of its form are only known by old Greek descriptions and representations on coins. Thanks to the improved SmartMINTING® technique, you can now find Zeus on a special 3 oz silver piece, fully golden and ultra-high relief. It is numbered individually and limited to only 501 pieces in the world.
