Obverse

The drawing represents in its center a rose, a coat of arms speaking of Rhodes, inspired by a piece struck in the ancient city of Rhodes - one of the most emblematic pieces of the Dodecanese - surrounded by stylized waves. The inscriptions "1948-2018 attachment of the Dodecanese to Greece" and "Hellenic Republic" appear along the inner edge (in Greek). You can also see a palmette (the workshop brand of the Greek currency) in the lower left part and the artist's monogram (George Stamatopoulos) in the lower right.
