Obverse

On the face of this play, Phileas Fogg is in the foreground in his hot air balloon, accompanied by Jean Passepartout, his faithful French valet, and Mrs Aouda, the young widow he saved. Several elements make it possible to locate the work in its context, notably Big Ben, symbol of the starting point and arrival of this adventure. The watch, for its part, illustrates the pressing nature of this journey, stressing that Phileas Fogg is engaged in a real race against the clock to win its bet. The name of the author, the title Le Tour du Monde in 80 days and the vintage is in the currency outline.

Reverse

The reverse is common to the whole series "The art of the pen". We can see there registered several emblematic quotes such as "the best is the enemy of Voltaire" of Voltaire, "Lascate Ogne Speranza Voi Ch'intrate" by Dante Alighieri, "to be or not to be, that is the question" of William Shakespeare or "was Mich Nicht Umbringt Macht Mich Stärker" by Nietzsche. A feather is engraved in the center of the room. Below, the title of the series is present. The mention "RF" is present at the bottom of the room as well as the hallmark of Joaquin Jimenez and the engraving workshop.
