50 years of PESSAC - Mini-medal
On September 3, 1973, the factory was inaugurated. Heir to the style of Le Corbusier, the Pessac factory was designed by the Atelier Salier-Courtois-Lajus-Fouquet, and constitutes a remarkable architectural and industrial heritage. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of its factory, the Monnaie de Paris invites you to discover its hidden side through a mini-medal packaged in a card. This drawing is a composition of different views of the PESSAC building, taken from archive photos. In the center, a hexagon symbolizes France; the number "50" appears in its center. Discs reminiscent of coin blanks punctuate the creation in an original pattern.
The reverse of this medal is the classic Monnaie de Paris reverse used on souvenir medals. Added to the crown is the title "50 years of PESSAC" as well as the anniversary dates "1973-2023" In order to celebrate the 50 years of Pessac and make it an exclusive object, the Monnaie de Paris wanted to integrate into this medal an engraving "U BLEAM" allowing access to exclusive content on the history and secrets of the Pessac factory...
