The center of the room represents the treaty signed by the six founding member states in front of a background evoking the paving, drawn by Michelangelo, from Place du Capitole, in Rome, where the treaty was signed on March 25, 1957. The translation of the word Europe appears above the book. The translation of the words treated by Rome 50 years is registered above the drawing. The year 2007 and the name of the issuing country are registered under the drawing. The twelve stars of the European flag surround the drawing on the external ring of the room.
