Eclecticism is the combination or mixing of different styles, theories or ideas in order to acquire complementary knowledge on a subject. The term comes from the Greek eklektikos, "choose the best", and that of Eklektos, "choose, select". We have adopted this approach to choose only the best for our 3rd edition of the "Eclectic Nature" series.

The veiled chameleon is a remarkable species from the arid regions of Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The most remarkable characteristic is a large bone protrusion made at the top of his head, called a helmet. The males and females carry this sophisticated headgear, which allegedly serves to channel the water droplets towards the mouth of the reptiles, a crucial adaptation in their dry habitats.
