To celebrate the 65th anniversary of The Smurfs, we present this exclusive proof coin. The reverse features an officially licensed image of The Smurf peeking out from behind a wall, along with the official 65th anniversary logo and designer Peyo's signature.

The obverse features the Niue coat of arms, denomination and year of issue, surrounded by Smurf mushroom-shaped houses.
The Smurfs first appeared in Johan and Peewit's "The Smurfs and the Magic Flute", published in the Belgian comic magazine Spirou by creator Peyo in 1958. In 1959, after gaining immense popularity, the Smurfs received their first publication in the form of the first adventure "The Black Smurfs". These popular blue creatures are known to live in mushroom-shaped houses in the Smurf village in the woods.
