The inner part of the coin pays tribute to two iconic monuments of both countries: the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The two monuments are linked by the number "50", which bears the dates of the anniversary. On these numbers, on the French side the republican motto "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité", and on the Chinese side the end of the country's national anthem, meaning "Forward, forward, forward". RF and its Chinese translation are inscribed at the bottom of the coin. flags meet in the same vertical lines. The phrase "50th anniversary of Franco-Chinese diplomatic relations" is also translated into Chinese.
