World Theatre Day is celebrated every year on March 27. Established by the International Theatre Institute in 1961 to highlight the importance of theatre in society and to promote the performing arts throughout the world. This day is an opportunity to pay tribute to actors, playwrights, directors, set and costume designers, technicians and all those who contribute to keeping theatre alive.
