France 2014 - 2 Euro commemorative - D -Day
Obverse
On the face of the room, the graphics of the word "d-day" is both a landing bar and the cannon of a tank. We discover the dates 1944-2014 above the tank cannon and the mention "70th anniversary of the landing". The very specific footprints of boots carried by the American and British armies gradually disappear, erased by a wave. Verlaine's sentence serving as code for the start of the landing is engraved on the wave: "The long sobs of the autumn violins hurt my heart with a monotonous languor".
Reverse
A map of the European continent is represented on a dynamic canvas made up of the twelve stars of the European Union.
