500 years of the first contacts in Timor

Obverse

The drawing represents a ship of the 16th century, symbolizing the arrival of Portuguese navigators on the island, and a thatched roof characteristic of local houses, with its typical wooden sculptures, which perpetuate myths and legends. The sculpture which appears on the play evokes the history of the first inhabitants, which arrived by boat from other regions of Asia, and the importance of the horse for the movements in the steep mountains which runs most of the 'island. In the upper right part of the year "1515" and the name of the emitting country, "Portugal". In the lower left part are the inscription "Timor" and the year "2015". Below is the artist's sign, Fernando Fonseca.
