The drawing of this currency reveals the profile of Erasmus, a humanist canon, philosopher and theologian who inspired the creation of the Erasmus program. During his life, he campaigned for peace in Europe, in the hope of seeing a more unified and inclusive Europe born.

It is surrounded by beams, coming from the stars of the European flag which appear on the crown, projecting the figure 35 in the center of the room, in reference to the 35 years of the Erasmus program. These links represent the many intellectual exchanges and
