The Nymphéas Basin - Claude Monet - Currency of 50 Euro Silver BE - 2022
FACE
The face represents one of Claude Monet's most famous works: the Nymphéas basin, a green harmony, painted in 1899 representing a bridge over a nympheas basin. The print "masterpiece of museums" which signs all the currencies in this series has been added at the top right and mixes with the work. The Musée d'Orsay, in which the work is on display is an integral part of the drawing since it represents one of the sections of the frame. The name of the work, that of the artist as well as the 2022 vintage complete the decor around the painting.
Reverse
The reverse is common to the series, it presents a mixture of views of several major French museums: top left, it is an interior view of the Orsay museum, recognizable by its superb clock. Next to it, there is a view of the Louvre facade, visible from the Napoleon court (where the very famous pyramid is located). Below these two elements, we see a fresco present on the Salé hotel which houses the Picasso museum. The lower part of the reverse exposes a view of the facade of the Biron hotel which is the current Rodin museum. Above, we find the famous staircase at the Center Pompidou. The facial value, the mention "French Republic" as well as the different of the Monnaie de Paris are also registered on this reverse.
