Obverse

The national side represents a member of the Vatican gendarmerie body in front of the Saint-Pierre basilica dome. In the upper part, in a semicircle, is the inscription "Corpo della Gendarmeria 1816-2016". Below, in a semicircle, is the name of the emitting country, "CitTA del Vaticano". The workshop brand "R" is on the left of the drawing, while the name of the designer "D. Longo ”appears to the right.

The outside ring of the room represents the twelve stars of the European flag.
