The Dutch National Money Week ("De Week van het geld") is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The National Money Week is an initiative of the Moneywise platform, part of the Dutch Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving financial literacy in the education system. By acquiring financial awareness from an early age, children and young adults lay the foundations for their financial independence later in life. Due to the corona crisis, the tenth anniversary of the National Money Week has been postponed to 22-26 March 2021.

The obverse of the coin features the words "10 jaar" (10 years) and the piggy bank from the National Money Week logo. On the reverse, the motto "Goed omgaan met geld is goud waard" (Handling money responsibly is worth its weight in gold) is inscribed. This is the theme of this year's National Money Week. The obverse of the coin is also reflected on the reverse. The small coins you see on the reverse are exact copies of the obverse!
