The inner part of the coin shows the Pen Duick with all its sails inflated on a rough sea. This representation is surmounted by a frieze of ropes.

Pen Duick was the name of Eric Tabarly's boats. Meaning "little black head" in Breton, Pen Duick is also the nickname of black tits. The first Pen Duick depicted on this coin is a sailboat built in 1898 based on plans by a renowned Scottish architect.
