Reason inspired by the octopuses represented in Minoen art, listing in a declination of several curves the names of the twelve countries of the euro zone: "Belgium/België, Deutschland, Eire, España, France, Ellada, Italia, Luxembourg, Nederland, Österreich , Portugal, suomi ". Distributed at the four ends of the "tentacles", the three French faces of the Euro parts, and the initials "RF". The twelve stars of Europe and the "1½ euro" facial value complete the composition that evokes French uniqueness in the diversity of Europe.
