250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven.
On December 16, 1770, Ludwig Van Beethoven was born in Bonn. The Vatican celebrates the brilliant German composer and pianist, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his birth. His early talent was unfortunately exploited by a scoundrel father who forced him to repetitions exhausting with a view to presenting him as a "prodigy child". However, the passion and the ardor with which the young Ludwig spoke and pursued the ideals of freedom and justice from the French Revolution, were never extinguished by the ugly of existence, nor by the hypoacus which touched him then that he was barely thirty years old. The bimetallic currency of 5 euros inserted in the official box, which will then also be available in the beautiful event version, is a work of Orietta Rossi. The representation of the musician's face is inspired by the portrait of Ludwig Van Beethoven directed by Joseph Karl Stieler in 1820, while the pentagram of the bottom was extracted from the score of the famous "Letter to Élise" composition of 1810.
