Nickel For Goodbye is about how someone could have been extremely rich and very happy if they had received a nickel for every mistake, insecurity or stupid decision. Everyone has had these moments in their life. Racoon has previously released English and Dutch music. Their last English album was in 2017. The band will release a new English album in 2024.

The Nickel For Goodbye in coin card contains an image of the band members on the reverse: from left to right, they are Maarten van Damme (bassist), Dennis Huige (guitarist), Bart van der Weide (vocalist) and Paul Bukkens. (drummer). Semicircles are visible in the background, they represent the shapes of a plate, referring to the band's new single. On the front of the medal there is an R for Racoon in the middle, around which Nickel For Goodbye is located. The design is based on the artwork from the single. The mint mark and mintmaster's mark can also be found on the reverse.
