In 1909, when the inventor Freelan Oscar Stanley opened the opulent Stanley Hotel for the first time in Estes Valley, Colorado, visitors were fascinated by the Palatial Building and the rural landscape of the surrounding valley. After years of success, in the 1970s the hotel fell into ruins and was only the shadow of itself. A strange and fatal chain of events involving the now famous author Steven King, saved the Stanley from the demolition ball. In a lucid nightmare, while he was in room 217. He dreamed of a rolled fire pipe which was coming to life by pursuing his screaming son in the hotel corridors. The link between the Stanley and the terrifying night of King, which gave birth to his successful book "The Shining", is the most famous scary event in the hotel. But strange and allegedly paranormal incidents were reported at the hotel long before the 1970s, some specifically in Chamber 217.
