OBVERSE
Description of the 2016 medal
Soldiers in full battle. On the left, a soldier carries a rifle with bayonet. At his side, the soldier holds a revolver. Both soldiers are wearing an Adrian helmet, used from 1915. To the right of the medal, two soldiers in the background are running on the battlefield. Below, is shown the historic road of the Voie sacrée or Voie sacrée Nationale, which links Bar-le-Duc to Verdun, numbered RD1916.
