Eighth piece in the Supersaurs series devoted to prehistoric giant animals. This series of 12 pieces illustrated by different dinosaurs will be issued to the rhythm of a room every quarter during the years 2019 to 2022. Partially colored, these pieces have the particularity of being luminescent in the dark, the animals appearing on These twelve pieces become active at night by creating a light effect.

- The internal part of the room represents a Styracosaurus in its native prehistoric habitat with a tapered tyrannosaurus rex in the background. In the lower part, the name of the "Styracosaurus" dinosaurus and the year of program "2021".

The reverse is a composition common to this series with a representation of the 12 prehistoric animals a pinosaurus, a mosasaur, an arambourgiania, an ankylosaur, a tyrannosaurus, a therizinosaurus, a deinonychus, a styracosaur, a argentinosaurus, a microraptor, a pachyceptor and Ornithomimus. Between animals, stylized representations of the flora and the name of the emitting country "Republik Osterreich" and the facial value "3 euro".

Each of the 12 prehistoric animals presented in the series had an exceptional quality, such as the most sophisticated hunting techniques, the longest claws or the most powerful bite, to name only a few.

The Styracosaurus may have looked terrifying, but the tips and horns which were beyond the head of the Styracosaurus albertensis were not necessarily used for violent purposes. The subject of the eighth piece of the Supersaures series had four to six long points extending from its collar, a smaller horn on each cheek and a single horn, up to 60 cm long and 15 cm wide, exceeding Ring. The function of these horns has long been the subject of a scientific debate.
