OBVERSE

On the heart, the name of the issuing country CITTA' DEL VATICANO (in English “VATICAN CITY”), the letter R of the Rome workshop and a drawing commemorating the five hundredth anniversary of Perugino's death, depicting his portrait and part of the fresco he painted, entitled “The Baptism of Christ” (in Italian “Battesimo di Cristo”), which adorns the Sistine Chapel; at the bottom, the name of the artist written in Italian, “PERUGINO”, the year of the commemorated event, 1523, and the year, 2023; on the crown, the twelve emblematic European five-pointed stars point upwards.
